Speaking about the team, head coach Graham Reid said, "This year's FIH Pro League has provided us with great opportunities to try out different team combinations and tactics. We've figured out what works and what doesn't, and more importantly, what areas we need to improve on. This week is the last leg of our home games for this year against Germany. Germany is always a tough opponent and it will be important for us to finish this week with as many points as possible to stay on top of the points table.
The Indian team has played ten matches so far in this season of FIH Hockey Pro League. The team is currently at the top of the table with 21 points, while Germany are second with 17 points from 8 matches. The Indian team defeated South Africa (10-2, 10-2), while it won one game and lost one against France. At home, India won one game against Spain and lost one, similarly against Argentina, and recently won both their games against England.
