Budo Academy India team bagged 13 medals at Nepal

A team from Budo Academy India took part in the 7th Mayor Cup, International Karate Do Championship 2022, Kakarvitta, Nepal from 28 to 30th April, 2022.

The team consists of 7 players and headed by Sensei Samarjit Mullick. The team was trained under the guidance of Sensei Samarjit Mullick and Coached by Sensei Sk Jawed Ahmad. More than 7 countries such as Nepal, Bhutan, Srilanka, India, Bangladesh, UAE and more has taken part in the event with more than 800 students.

Budo Academy India team was the only team from the state of West Bengal and has successfully bagged 13 medals in two categories, Kata and Kumite.

Sk Jawed Ahmad has Won a gold in Kata and Silver in Kumite, Abhijit Sarkar has successfully bagged a silver medal in Kata for the Nation, Subham Agarwal has participated for the first time in an international champion and has won a silver and bronze in Kata and Kumite respectively, Harit Kapani and has secured the third place in Kata and Kumite both in the Senior Male Open Category. Prayag Raj Jaiswal, a 5 year old also secured the third position in Kata and Kumite both and was the youngest participant in the Event.

Rubi Bhowmick and Ishika Paul both have shown great sportsmanship in both the kata and Kumite events in the female categories and have secured Gold, Bronze and Silver Bronze respectively.

The academy and its members are really happy on the great achievement and have decided to felicitate the students with scholarships and allowances. All the Gold medal winners will have 6 months relaxation in their monthly fees, Silver and Bronze medal winners will have 4 and 2 months relaxation respectively. In addition to that, the academy will also sponsor the said participants in the upcoming State Championships, West Bengal.

The Members and Coach Samarjit Mullick is really happy and proud of all the students.
