After the order of the Delhi High Court, the Sports Ministry has become strict on the National Sports Federations. The ministry has called the office bearers of 46 sports federations and made it clear that their constitution should be completely according to the sports code. For this, the ministry has given sports federations till June 30.

Through this meeting on behalf of the ministry, a message has been given to the sports federations that if they do not follow the sports code by June 30, then they can be recognized. The ministry has made it clear to the sports federations that life president and life member will not be accepted in any sports federation. Not only this, the office bearer of any sports association will not be able to hold the post of CEO.

The Delhi High Court on a plea by Aslam Sher Khan, a member of the 1975 World Cup winning team, disqualified the life membership of Narendra Batra and appointed the Committee of Administrators (COA) in Hockey India. After this, the ministry called the sports federations and asked them to follow the order of the court.

The ministry has given recognition to only 46 sports federations this year. He also invited these sports federations. He was not called by the ministry due to his posting of administrators in sports federations like football, hockey, table tennis, judo or due to his de-recognition.

The ministry has also made it clear indirectly to the sports federations that the state federations will also come under the purview of the Sports Code. The ministry has asked sports federations to register their state associations under the Societies Act. By doing so, the state unions may also be bound to come under the Sports Code.

The ministry asked the sports federations to include 25 percent of the players in their executive body. According to the order given by the court on the Archery Association, these players should be national level players.
