Sri Lanka is currently facing financial crisis. Because of which its effect is now visible on cricket as well. In view of the current economic crisis, now the organization of Asia Cup is also under threat. Due to the economic crisis, now the hosting of the Asia Cup to be held this year can be snatched from Sri Lanka. The Asia Cup is to be held in Sri Lanka from 27 August to 11 September. Asia Cup Sri Lanka is hosting the Asia Cup after a long gap of four years.

According to media reports, the venue of the Asia Cup can be changed. Although it would have been organized now, no statement has come about it. A decision on this will be taken only during the meeting of the Asia Cricket Council (ACC). The organization of the Asia Cup 2022 will be discussed in the quarterly meeting of the ICC.

Let us tell you that the President of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ramiz Raja and Chief Executive Faisal Hasnain will participate in this meeting. Sri Lanka is to host Australia and Pakistan between June-August in the coming times.

This time the Asia Cup will be played in T20 format. The last time it was played was in Sri Lanka in 2018. In this match, India won by defeating Bangladesh. A qualifier with the five Test-playing nations India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will make their way into the tournament.
