Today, the historic General Assembly of the Asian Traditional Sports and Games Association (ATSGA) was organized through online mode which was attended by representatives of more than 15 countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Philippines, South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, etc.  The General Assembly was organized under the patronage of Professor. Gay Joan (France), President- International Traditional Sports and Games Association (ITSGA) and Dr. Pere Lavega (Spain)-President of the European Traditional Sports and Games Association (ETSGA). It is noteworthy that International Traditional Sports and Games Association is the only organization in the world for the promotion and preservation of intangible culture heritage through Traditional Sports and Games which is working for the last 20 years. There are already established continental associations operating in Africa, America and Europe under the International Traditional Sports and Games Association (ITSGA).

 Mr. B.K. Bharat who is the Traditional Sports and Games Federation in India, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Sports Foundation of India shared that the Traditional Sports and Games Federation, India is the only entity in India affiliated to the International Traditional Sports and Games Association (ITSGA), which has been continuously engaged in the promotion and dissemination of traditional & indigenous sports activities in the country since 2016.

The first council of the Asian Traditional Sports and Games Association (ATSGA) (2022 - 2026) has been elected and the election results were announced by the election officer, Dr. Pere Lavega, as follows-

President - Master B.K Bharat (India)

Vice President – Prof. Henry Dutt (Philippines)

Vice President - Dr. Andy Liu Su (Taiwan)

General Secretary - Janab Tariq Javed Ali (Pakistan)

Council Member – Prof. Chuchai Gomratut (Thailand)

Council Member - Janab Tanveer Ahmed (Bangladesh)

As a welcoming gesture for Mr. B. K .Bharat who is elected as President - ATSGA , he was congratulated and best wishes were been received for his outstanding achievement from Lt. Gen. Shri Rajiv Bhalla - Former Advisor (Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of India), Mrs. Soni  – President, Dr. Ajit Singh- Vice President(Traditional Sports and Games Federation India) , Mr Uttam Rajoria - Secretary Genera ( The Association for National Sports Federations), Mr. Ravinder Kumar – Secretary General (National Martial Arts Committee India), Dr. Rakesh Malik – Deputy director Sports  (Punjab University, Chandigarh), Prof. Mukesh Agarwal – Board Member(IOAPA -India), Mr. Jagjit Singh - Sports Coordinator, Gurugram Region,(Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan), Mr. Deepak Aggarwal-Secretary General –(Indian Gilli-Danda Federation), Mrs. Sarika Katoch - Social Sevika (Former Ambedkar National Awardee), Mr. Anil – Board Member (Delhi Thangtha Association), Mr. Faisal Ali - Padmashree Olympian Manoj Kumar (Boxing), Mr. Prashant Kushwaha - Secretary-General (Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association), Dr. Mahender Singh - Head Of Department Physical Education (Government College-11 ,Chandigarh), Miss Ruby Singh -Convenor (Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Award Committee) Dr. Ram Niwas Yadav - Secretary General –(Dr. BR Ambedkar Sports Foundation), Mr. Jaideep Sarkar -Board Member (Indian Pierre de Coubertin Association ) and Mr. Neeraj Kumar Mehra – President, (National Council of Sports Science and Physical Education), etc. 

On being elected as President, Mr B.K Bharat shared and invited stakeholders (universities, school/colleges sports clubs and research organizations etc) to collaborate through seminars, workshops, and sports festivals which will be organized to promote traditional sports in India as well as all over Asia.
