Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra says he is not bothered by his rivals' stellar performances at the start of the season but says he would also like to throw a 90m throw this year. Defending world champion Andersen Peters of Granada and Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Jakub Wallach of Czech Republic threw 93.07 and 90.88m respectively at the Doha Diamond League on May 13.

Chopra said in an online conversation with his practice center in Turkey that I do not take the pressure of distance. Peters and Jakub are working very hard due to which they have done well. I also have a dream to cross 90 meters and will try this year. He said that I know the competition is tough and is increasing. It depends on the performance of the day, weather and other conditions. I don't usually think of overtaking someone's performance or record. My focus remains on performing at my best.

Chopra is currently training with coach Klaus Bartonij in Antalya, Turkey. His individual best performance is 88.07m. He will play his first competition of the season in Finland, where he will face Peters and Germany's Johannes Vetter, who have thrown over 90 meters several times. He will then take part in the Kuorten Games in Finland in June where he finished third last year. “My aim is to do well in the World Championships. Apart from that, I would like to win gold again in the Commonwealth Games.
