Paris: The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved the schedule of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The event will start on July 24, two days before the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony will be held on 26 July. There will be a total of 329 medal events in this Olympics. The closing ceremony will be held on August 11.

Handball will be the first event of the Mahakumbh of this 19-day sports. Host France has a record 7 medals in this event including 4 gold. The first gold medal event will be held on July 27, in which players will be awarded medals in cycling, judo, fencing, diving, rugby, shooting, swimming and skateboarding.

As usual, preliminary football matches will also begin before the opening ceremony at venues across the country, including Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice and Saint-Etienne. Group play in rugby also begins on the same day. There will be surfing events in Tahiti. It is about 15 thousand km from Paris. This would be the record for the farthest Olympic medal event from the host city. Tahiti is an island located in French Polynesia.

The first swimming gold medal will be awarded on 27 July and the first athletic gold medal on 2 August. The Olympics will begin on 9 August at the Place de la Concorde. From 8 to 11 August, finals for women's and men's hockey, handball, football, beach volleyball, volleyball, basketball and water polo will be held before the closing ceremony on the evening of August 11.

The opening ceremony of the Games which will be the first of its kind. It will be organized in the Seine River. For the first time, the Olympic Opening Ceremony will be held in the open and Athletes will come on the boat there.
