BCCI President Sourav Ganguly met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday. During this, Ganguly has sought space for the new stadium of the Cricket Association of Bengal. Mamta has told that the West Bengal government had already allotted land for this stadium, but due to the availability of water, the stadium cannot be built there. For this reason, Ganguly has asked for land for the stadium at some other place. Mamta has said that soon the Bengal government will allot land at a new location for the new stadium.

With the aim of creating a sports city in Howrah district of West Bengal, space was given for the stadium in Khel Nagari. This information was given in the state secretariat of Mamta Banerjee. However, there is a pond in the allotted land. Because of this a stadium cannot be built there. Because of this, Sourav Ganguly has asked Mamata Banerjee to allot land to Bengal Cricket Association at some other place. Mamta has said that she will look into the matter.

Mamta Banerjee also told that she did not have any conversation with Sourav regarding the IPL. It was not even an official meeting. They were just talking. Sourav Ganguly was the President of Cricket Association of Bengal before becoming the BCCI President. During this he did a lot of work for Bengal cricket. Now Sourav is doing amazing in Indian cricket too.
