Shah was appointed to the post in January last year. Before him, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Najmul Hasan was holding this post. This time, the proposal to extend Shah's term was proposed by Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva, which was unanimously supported by all the members of the ACC.
Addressing the ACC meeting on Saturday, Shah said, "The focus of the ACC is to further the development of the game in this region (Asia). We are committed to the development of cricket in this region in all respects. We are dedicated to do pioneering work, especially in the field of women's cricket and in all grassroots tournaments organized by the ACC throughout the year.
Shah also thanked everyone at the AGM for extending his tenure. He said, 'I would like to thank all my respected colleagues in the ACC for believing in me and deeming me worthy to complete all the work started by the ACC.
